24th annual meeting of the Forum of Nuclear Safety Authorities of the Countries Operating VVER Type Reactors (VVER Forum) took place on 2-4 May 2017 in Isfahan, Iran.

The senior officials and experts from the nuclear safety regulatory bodies of Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Hungary, Iran, India, Slovakia and Ukraine attended the VVER Forum, with Belarus, Germany and the IAEA participating as observers.

The sessions included updates on the most safety significant and relevant occurrences in the VVER nuclear plants. The participants also shared information on the changes in nuclear and radiation safety regulation they had had since the 23rd VVER Forum that was held in July 2016, in Murmansk, Russia.

The next VVER Forum meeting is to be held in Belarus, tentatively in May 2018.
